In this episode, we are taking a look at some very important trends that may already be affecting your organization. What is the current state of talent pools? How is AI shaping our workplaces? What do employees really want? This conversation could be a game-changer for you.
But before we begin today’s podcast, I want you to ask yourself a few questions.
Number one, do you have a global talent strategy, and is it changing in this current landscape?
And number two, how is your organization’s talent team addressing the growth of AI?

Handling Disruption
How confident are today’s executives in their company’s ability to handle geopolitical, economic and technological disruption?
I don’t think that people feel confident about that at all. And I think that the ones who are out there trying to make it seem like they do, it’s all bluster. I don’t think anyone does, there’s no way to lock it in, everything is shifting too quickly, you can’t predict anything. And in our annual WorldatWork report, a majority of executives, I think 64%, worry that their company can’t handle it. So, I think you really need to focus on your talent and do you have a workforce that can adapt? Making sure that your existing talent and the talent you’re hiring is very learning agile, that they can learn quickly, they can apply it to their jobs almost immediately.
Hiring Locally
. Is it harder to find skilled talent locally? And how are leaders changing their approach?
It’s a real pain point, and leaders really do need to shift how they’re thinking about going out and finding talent. You can’t just hire in your own backyard. Hiring globally is a great solution for that. You can source talent where the talent is, regardless of location. That’ll build a more skilled and diverse workforce for you. It’s not easy though. I can remember, at previous companies when we were looking to hire in other countries, it was such a complex undertaking. We didn’t know what we were doing. It would take months and months and months, because we were working on setting up entities. We don’t know the labor laws, you don’t know the tax codes or the business practices.
Relocating Workers
Are workers open to relocating abroad for better job opportunities right now? What are you seeing out there?
I definitely think so. My personal opinion is, with all of the geopolitical uncertainty, there’s quite a few people that are interested in going to live elsewhere right now. And we don’t see classic relocation in our organization because we are fully remote but we definitely do see our own employees wanting to move new places while continuing to work for us. And luckily, it’s very easy for us to facilitate that, if it works for the business, time zones and all of that is a consideration. And even just that report, our AI report shows that 62% of employees do report that they’d be willing to move to a different country. So, I think there’s a strong appetite for it. Today’s talent, they want growth, they want opportunity. They want their work to highlight their life, make their life better, enrich it. And relocation is just one of the many ways that it can do that.
