AI in HR
Let’s set the stage by defining what we mean about AI in HR. It’s big and exciting, but let’s get our arms around why this is where the industry is headed.
So that’s an interesting question. Every once in a while a new technology emerges that really disrupts the market. So some of these technologies gradually become the norm, and others generally fade into the obscurity, but very few create those tectonic shifts, transforming the way we think, live, and work. AI is undeniably one such evolution. No industry will remain untouched by AI, and HR is no exception. In fact, I see HR stands at a very crucial inflection point.
Training for The Future
How fast are we talking about, to all those HR and talent professionals around the world right now, how much time do we need to coach, train, or otherwise?
One good thing is there is a lot less technical thing in learning AI, so you just need to know what it is capable of, and the way you interact with these very conversational and natural language. When there is a agent or a bot, you ask what you want, you tell what you or the work you want to get done. That’s it. So what it means is technically as per me, so there is no need of any training. So just be aware of the possibilities, that’s it. And do the right implementation. So very, very little time will go into adopting or using it.
Mitigating Bias
Let’s talk about how AI might actually mitigate some of these unconscious biases.
This is one of the most exciting aspects of AI in HR because let’s be honest, unconscious bias is a real challenge in hiring. So even most of the well-intentioned recruiters and hiring managers can be influenced by the things they’re not even aware of. So whether it’s in someone’s name, background, or certain factors like voice, accent, body language, etc. So yeah, it really changes the game. Unlike humans, AI doesn’t have any personal biases when designed correctly. Most importantly, when designed correctly, it can help identify and mitigate biases.
